Drama Jr. 
The best place to start with your young actor! Unlock your imagination and come play with us as we explore games, storytelling, poetry and song! This five class session gives our youngest actors an introduction to acting techniques in a safe, fun environment. Session ends with an open workshop style performance for friends and family.
  • Dates: 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12

  • Times: 3:30-4:15 pm (45 Minutes)

Get ready to jump into a world of imagination! In this class, students will build confidence and creativity on stage through lively, laughter-filled theater games. We’ll discover how to use our voices, connect with scene partners, and collaborate as a true ensemble. Stories are the heartbeat of theater—and we’re going to bring them to life! With a fun new theme every week, this class invites young performers to play, create, and let their imaginations run wild.

Get ready to walk into any audition room feeling prepared! In this six-week class, we’ll demystify the audition process through energetic games, imaginative exercises, and plenty of practice. Students will try out cold readings, work on their resume, and experiment with character choices in a supportive environment. We’ll also tackle the practical stuff—how to enter the room,  slate, take direction, and shake off those audition butterflies. By the end, each actor will have a toolbox of techniques to help them shine with confidence, creativity, and joy at every audition.

SPRING PRODUCTION

Spring Youth Production: Honk Jr.

This delightful adaptation of the beloved fable and the award-winning musical is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special. Adapted for young performers, Honk! Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  In this production class, every student that enrolls in the class will receive a role. Ticketed performances for the public will be in the Studio Theater (black box) at NVC Performing Arts Center.Dates: March 14 - May 10th.
  • Mondays 4:30-6:30pm, Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm, and Saturdays 10-Noon
  • Auditions: Saturday March 14th during class- Enrolled students will be sent audition details.
  • Ages: 8-14
  • Directorial Team Olivia Cowell and Rio Codda, Musical Director Vivian McLaughlin, and Teaching Artist Tessa Mello
  • Locations: Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center, Studio Theater (black box)
  • Performances: May 8 at 6pm, May 9 at 2pm, May 9 at 6pm, May 10 at 2pm
