​Madagascar- A Musical Adventure Jr. Production Camp

This camp offers students ages 7-14 the chance to work on a production from start to finish with an award winning directorial team. This musical production gives kids the opportunity to act, sing, and dance on stage! Every student who signs up for camp will receive a role in the production.
  • Dates: Monday June 16-20 AND June 23-27th. (please note there is NO camp or childcare on Thursday June 19th as NVC campus is closed in observance of Juneteenth) 
  • Class and Performance Location: NVC Performing Arts Center, Mainstage
  • Free Public Performances are held on Friday, June 27th at 2:00pm and 6:00pm
  • Tuition Cost: $675- tuition includes materials and costume fees
  • Ages: 7-14- your student must be age 7 by 6/16/25 to participate in this camp.
  • Every student that enrolls receives a role. Maximum of 35 students  
  • Students ages 15+ who are going into Sophomore year of high school can intern for this show.

About the Show: Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.

LOL Comedy Camp

Laugh it up in this super popular comedy camp tailored for funny actors or actors who like to have fun. This popular camp will include traditional theater games, improv comedy, clowning, jokes, bad dancing, and lots of laughs. Our session will end with an open-workshop style performance for family and friends.

Drama Quest: Mo Willems Style

Explore the marvelous world of Mo Willems in this class designed specifically for young actors. Imaginations will come alive as students immerse themselves with Elephant, Piggy, Pigeon and other characters. Your young actor is sure to be delighted with this camp filled with Willems inspired arts and crafts, coloring, books, music, dance, and drama games.
  • Dates: July 14-18th
  • Times: 9:00am-12:00pm

Theater Eras Tour Camp

Actors will get a snapshot of different eras of theater throughout the week. Delve with us as we immerse ourselves in Greek Theater, Shakespeare's Greats, Commedia Dell'Arte Clowns, and Vaudeville Variety. Each day filled with a different genre explored through drama games, storytelling, art!

Traveling Trunk Theater

Calling all actors interested in creating a show from the ground up! Through the course of the week, actors will work with a script, create props and costumes, stage a play, and perform for family on the final day of camp. Focusing on the process rather than product, this "page to stage" camp is for actors who love to be creative, be part of a team, and have a blast exploring all the aspects of theater.

Artful Antics Camp

Bring original characters to life in this combo art/drama creativity camp! Through traditional theater games and art instruction, campers will hone their drawing skills while creating characters on paper and on stage. These characters will then be used as inspiration for an open style workshop performance on the last day of camp.
